The Canadian Seniors Association announced a new elevator at the Seniors Association with a budget of C$140,000 (US$102,490).
New elevator in the elderly community
The Canadian Seniors Association in India recently celebrated the installation of a new elevator at the facility. The funds needed to install a new elevator in the senior citizens’ association have been provided by the provincial government.
The elevator was unusable for nearly two years. For this reason, the elderly had to use the stairs to receive services and perform daily tasks. The Ministry of Social Affairs and Poverty Alleviation provided the association’s board of directors with CAD$140,000 (US$102,490) to replace the elevator and improve access to the building.
“This replacement will not only improve seniors’ access to the dining hall, but also enhance their overall quality of life by allowing them to participate in activities on different floors of the building,” association president Harpal Singh Brar told the source.
