According to Hoodline last month, the escalators of BART stations were renovated by Schindler. The media also introduced a new canopy at the Embarcadero and Montgomery stations respectively.
According to BART documents, Schindler received $96.4 million in 2019 for an escalator renovation project at area BART stations. In addition to the state-of-the-art escalator on the Embarcadero, which helps facilitate passenger movement, major escalator repairs at the Civic Center and Powell Street stations were nearly completed in June. The Market Street Station entrance canopy protects both passengers and the new escalator equipment from the elements.
