New York’s WETM news agency reported a fire in an elevator at the Elcore Nursing Center in Chemung County. According to the reporters present at the scene of the incident, flames and smoke were seen near the elevator inside the Elcore Nursing Center at around 11:00 AM on Friday (July 5).
The nurses immediately called the fire department and emergency services. Several firefighting teams from different parts of the city reached this nursing center to control the fire.
According to District Fire Chief McInerney, the Elcore Nursing Center elevator fire caused no injuries and no one was inside the elevator at the time of the fire. Also, according to the available research, it was determined that the starting point of the fire was the engine room of the elevator.
The managers of the nursing center are negotiating with reputable companies to install and restart the center’s elevator. But until further notice, employees and patients must use the stairs to get around.
