Renovation of the elevator and escalator of the Millennium Mall by Otis Indonesia
Renovation of elevators and escalators of Millennium Mall
Millennium Mall, which is located in the center of Jakarta city, has chosen Otis Company in Indonesia for the Millennium Mall elevator and escalator renovation project. Otis Indonesia is part of the Otis Corporation global group, which is a world leader in the field of manufacturing, installation and service of elevators and escalators.
Otis Indonesia participated in Millennium Mall’s rebranding ceremony held in early June. Otis will install 39 systems in the elevator and escalator renovation project of the Millennium Mall. Of these, 25 cases will replace escalators, eight cases will replace elevators, and six cases will replace escalators.
To make elevators run smoother, quieter, and more comfortable, the cables in many elevators are being replaced with polyurethane-coated flat steel cables. These wire ropes will significantly reduce vibration.
To achieve greater energy efficiency, all elevators in the building will be equipped with a ReGen drive that saves energy. This drive captures energy when braking and converts it back into electricity. In addition, it reduces annual energy consumption by 37% compared to existing equipment.
In addition, the equipment of several escalators in busy areas of the mall has been replaced, and with this replacement, the amount of disruptions has been minimized.
