An elevator malfunction in Kuala Lumpur has caused many problems for residents of residential complexes, and repairs are still ongoing.

One of the three damaged lifts in an 18-storey public housing block in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was repaired in early January and returned to service for residents, while the other two are still under repair, Cabin News reported, citing Bernama. The Kuala Lumpur lift breakdown was repaired by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL). The New Straits Times reported that residents had been experiencing repeated lift breakdowns throughout December, causing inconvenience and dissatisfaction.

The public housing complex has 38 lifts, 18 of which are being replaced. According to the source, out of the remaining 20, only 14 are currently operational. This has led to increased dissatisfaction among residents and complaints about lift breakdowns in Kuala Lumpur.
City officials have said they are working to fix the problems and speed up repairs, but complaints about broken elevators in Kuala Lumpur continue.
