Jackson International Airport in Mississippi has announced the receipt and installation of VT elevators at the airport. The $5.3 million project involves replacing all four escalators and five VT elevators at the airport out of seven elevators in the terminal building. The VT units, which are often under repair, are nearly 60 years past their useful life.

Schindler is performing maintenance on the VT elevators at the airport serving the state capital, and local firm Paul Jackson & Son will oversee the VT work, which is scheduled to begin in July. In addition to installing the VT elevators at the airport, the escalators will be replaced one at a time to ensure accessibility for people with disabilities.
