HAWLEY, Minn. (Valley News Live) – The community is coming together to say ‘thank you’ to the dozens of firefighters and other first responders who battle a massive fire at the Hawley Co-Op Elevator in late February.
First Responders Appreciation night is happening on Saturday, April 27 from 4:30-7:00 p.m. in the Hawley High School Gymnasium.

A ceremony and social is planned, with entertainment and food for the first responders. Brats, hot dogs and root beer floats will be served by the Hawley Jaycees and Women of Today.
Free will donations will be collected and distributed evenly between the Hawley Fire Department, Hawley Emergency Response Team (HERT), and Hawley Police Department.
