Otis Elevator and Escalator Company announced on April 30 that it has been selected to carry out the maintenance of 52 elevators and 446 escalators at Singapore’s SMRT train station for five years.
Otis company examined and tested escalators and elevators to ensure their safety. While performing regular and continuous maintenance of systems, they also replace parts when needed.
By choosing Otis, the best service is provided to the NSEWL train station. With more than 30 years of operation, this station is the oldest and most used line in Singapore’s rapid transit network. Otis company installed an escalator at NSEWL station for the first time in 1987.
The director of the company’s operations department says: “Otis mechanics have identified possible problems using a set of digital tools and have taken action to fix them. Due to the work process, elevators and escalators may be unavailable for a while.”
